AIDS Action World AIDS Day Restaurant Campaign
Boston restaurants are raising awareness and much-needed funds in honor of World AIDS Day. Ask your server about the World AIDS Day special drink or dish. The list of participating restaurants will be updated as new restaurants join our campaign. Participating restaurants include: Myers + Chang, OM Restaurant, Aquitaine Boston, Gaslight Brasserie du Coin, Metropolis Cafe, Union Bar and Grille, Slivertone Bar and Grill and Trina's Starlite Lounge. Medicine Wheel 18th Annual Public Art Installation
Date/Time: 11/23-11/30 from 9am-5pm, closed Thanksgiving Day 12/1 - open for 24 hours *Vigil and 24 hour access begins on Monday, 11/30 at 10pm. Location: Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02118
Medicine Wheel is the largest recurring site-specific public art event in Boston with an 18-year history and an annual 24-hour vigil of prayer, dance, song and ritual attended by thousands of individuals and artists. The installation is a Cyclorama Residency at the Boston Center for the Arts. Medicine Wheel also works in collaboration with AIDS Action Committee of Boston, MA.

Open House: AIDS Foundation of Western Massachusetts

Drop by their office any time during those 2 hours. Activities include snacks, film, open mic, giveaways, educational materials, the creation of a memory book (bring a photo or poem or note about someone lost to AIDS), and more. World AIDS Day 2009: Universal Access and Human Rights

Free, Walk-in, Rapid HIV Testing and Services at the MALE Center

The MALE Center offers free, confidential, rapid HIV testing. Rapid testing involves a small finger stick and results are ready during your visit, which generally takes about an hour.

Universal Access and Human Rights: A Panel Discussion on HIV/AIDs

Part of Boston University's World AIDS Week, this panel discussion will include Alfredo, who is HIV-positive; Jim Maynard, an HIV vaccine researcher from Fenway Community Health; Azziza Ahmed, a researcher from the department of health and population at Harvard University; and Sheila Flynn, a Dominican nun from Kopanang Community Trust. The event is free and open to the public.

Short Films on HIV/AIDS and Communities of Color

Critical MASS and the Center for Community Health Education Research and Service (CCHERS) will screen two short films addressing HIV/AIDS and communities of color: Calling My Children, directed by David Binder, and Jesus Children of America, directed by Spike Lee. Both films were released in 2009. An open dialogue and panel discussion will follow, featuring Gary Daffin (Multicultural AIDS Coalition), Dr. Nancy Norman (Boston Public Health Commission), David Binder (filmmaker), and Dr. Jean McGuire (MA Dept Health and Human Services).
