Live music and art show @ Boomerangs-Jamaica Plain this Thursday
Thursday, September 3rd is First Thursday in Jamaica Plain! The monthly event, organized by Jamaica Plain/Centre South Main Streets, invites area businesses to feature local artists in their stores. Boomerangs-Jamaica Plain will feature two bands (Beach Hair and Gracious Calamity) and artwork by 11 Boomerangs employees.
Stop by, check it out, buy some well-priced stuff, and support AIDS Action all at the same time.

Grand Opening Days for Boomerangs-West Roxbury next week, September 10-12th
 Boomerangs joined the West Roxbury community back in June. With school starting, we wanted to invite our friends, old and new, to celebrate our new location with us. Both stores will feature discounts (30% off clothing on Thursday 9/10 and 10% off furniture on Friday 9/11). Shoppers at West Roxbury will get a special treat on Saturday 9/12: The first 250 customers who purchase $5 or more will receive a free pair of brand new Boomerangs socks!

 Fashion Fusion, a fashion event to beneft AIDS Action Committee, will take place September 30th from 6pm-9pm at the FP3 Residences in Boston. Sponsored by Boston Spirit Magazine, the event features a fashion show, makeovers, VIP reception, Boomerangs apparel, and more. 100% of the proceeds benefit the critical advocacy and direct service work AIDS Action Committee does on behalf of its 2,500+ clients.

Boomerangs, a Jamaica Plain re-sale shop owned by local powerhouse nonprofit AIDS Action, is thrift-store heaven for a college student with a taste for the ironic and the vintage. (Our readers agree: they voted it number-one thrift find in the city for our annual Best issue.) Even better, the store's proceeds go toward myriad services provided by AIDS Action, which counts the shop as one of its most important sources of revenue.
