January 2006 - AAC joins Prevention First, a coalition of reproductive health providers and prevention educators who support comprehensive health and sexuality education
November 2006 Prevention First advocates through letters and meetings for Gov. Patrick to reject AOUM funding
February 2007 AAC becomes Chair of the Prevention First Coalition for the 2007-2008 legislative session.
February 15, 2007 Together with other members of Prevention First, AAC testifies before Governor Patrick’s Secretary of Health and Human Services JudyAnn Bigby urging the administration to reject AOUM funding
February 2007 Governor Patrick delivers his budget with no funding for AOUM programming and announces the state will no longer seek the federal grant for this programming in the future
MarchJune 2007 Prevention First advocates in the House and Senate to follow Gov. Patrick’s leadership and keep AOUM funding out of budget

May 4, 2005 -- The Joint Committee on Public Health hears testimony in support of pharmacy sales of syringes
June 15, 2005 The Joint Committee on Public Health gives a favorable report to the Pharmacy Access Bill
June 2005 November 2005 AAC chairs the Massachusetts Pharmacy Access Campaign. The Campaign members canvass the House, meeting and contacting all the members to make the case for the Pharmacy Access Bill, H4176.
November 14, 2005 The House engrosses Bill H4176 and it’s ready to go to the State Senate
JanuaryJune 2006 AAC staff works with Senate members through letters, phone calls and meetings to rally support for the Pharmacy Access Bill
June 7, 2006 The Senate engrosses their version of the Pharmacy Access Bill, S1312
June 30, 2006 Governor Romney vetoes the bill
July 13, 2006 The House and Senate override the veto and enact the Pharmacy Access Bill into law
September 18, 2006 Over-the-counter sales of needles in pharmacies begins!
