Rebecca Haag, President
Rebecca Haag became the President and CEO of AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts in April of 2003. Before coming to AIDS Action, Haag had worked as a senior manager in a variety of corporate and government settings. Most recently, she was Vice President of Professional Services at Wheelhouse Corporation; Senior Vice President of WorkFamily Directions, where she managed elder and child care programs on behalf of blue chip corporations; and a Senior Vice President at Hill, Holliday where she managed human resources for this marketing and communications consulting firm. Michael T. Wong, M.D., Chairman
Michael Wong, M.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School on staff in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, was appointed in 2007 by Gov. Deval Patrick as a member of the Massachusetts Public Health Council. In addition to his clinic work, he has nearly 20 years of extensive experience in healthcare policy development and serves as a policy leader for key state and national healthcare issues. He was named Champion in Health Care by the Boston Business Journal in 2004. He also received the “Distinguished Service Award” in 2006 from Washington, DC-based American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM), for which he Co-Chairs its Policy Committee.
Kevin W. Powers, Treasurer
Kevin W. Powers is the Director of TeleWeb Channel Marketing for IBM’s Software Division. He is responsible for all web marketing, telemarketing and response and lead management activities for the division. He has also served on the Human Rights Campaign board, and supports several LGBT, community and arts organizations.
William E. Kelly, Secretary
Bill Kelly is a partner at the law firm Nixon Peabody LLP. His practice focuses on corporate finance and securities. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Contemporary Art, the Board of Directors of The Theater Offensive, and the Board of Trustees of La Salle University.
Cheryl Bartlett, R.N.
Cheryl Bartlett, R.N., is a long-time AIDS advocate, administrator and clinician. She has extensive experience in nonprofit settings and is a strong manager and has spearheaded several successful fund-raising initiatives. She has worked actively on several public policy issues and has experience in the political arena. She headed the AIDS Alliance on Nantucket, where she lived for many years, and then ran a social service agency on the Cape where she lives now. She is currently directing a project on Nantucket and other consulting services.
Kevin D. Batt
Kevin Batt is an attorney with Anderson & Kreiger LLP, specializing in municipal law and representing diverse Massachusetts communities such as Lexington, Concord, Dover, Acton, Ipswich, Barnstable, Cambridge and Attleboro. He has also participated in same-sex marriage litigation. Kevin served on the board of Cambridge Cares for eight years, including four years as president. In addition, Kevin serves on the board of META, a national legal advocacy organization for English language learners in public schools, and on the advisory board of the History Project.
Dr. David H. Bor
David H. Bor, M.D., is Chief of Medicine at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He serves as infectious disease consultant, educator of medical students and residents and health policy researcher. He played a role in designing and implementing Cambridge and CHA’s approach to HIV/AIDS.
Jessica Berman Boatright
Jessica Berman Boatright is the Special Assistant to the Associate Director of Public Housing and Rental Assistance for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In this role she works on a variety of projects related to the state's portfolio of over 50,000 state-aided public housing units and 26,000 rental vouchers. Additionally, she currently manages the Commonwealth's $18.4M federal stimulus funded Homeless Prevention & Rapid Rehousing program. Prior to joining the AAC board, Jessica was a member of the Board of Cambridge Cares about AIDS and the AIDS Service Center in Pasadena, CA.
Maria M. Coviello
Maria Coviello is the Professional Development Coordinator and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Administrator with Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP coordinating seminars and managing the lawyers CLE at the firm. Maria serves on the board of the Business & Professional Women’s Organization/MA and serves as Chair on the Massasoit Community College President’s Community Advisory Council.
Louis K. Eaton
Louis K. Eaton is Help Desk Analyst for Grand Circle Travel, directing network management, system stability and technical support for 300 users worldwide. He is an African-American gay man active in the faith community, has been involved in the AIDS epidemic for more than 20 years. Eaton helped found a gay men’s health group years ago that today is part of the Multicultural AIDS Coalition (MAC). Eaton has been involved with AAC through the Bayard Rustin Breakfast and as an AIDS Walk Boston Team Captain for Grand Circle Travel. Grand Circle Foundation has been a long-time supporter of AAC as premier Walk sponsor and now as lead sponsor of BE SAFE.
Celia Grant
Celia Grant is the Director, Creative and Marketing at the Associated Industries of MA. Celia brings over 20 years of marketing and communications experience to AIDS Action from her years at Houghton Mifflin, Trinity Communications and Downtown Crossing Association. She has also worked with the Madison Park Development Corporation, ACT Roxbury and in the Office of State Senator Dianne Wilkerson.
Shayla Griffin
Shayla Griffin is a Pricing Analyst at State Street Corporation. Shayla has volunteered for many local nonprofit organizations, including Rosie’s Place and Community Servings. HIV/AIDS prevention became a passion for Shayla after a childhood friend was diagnosed HIV-positive in 2004, at the age of 21.
Joseph Ianelli
Joseph Ianelli worked as a clinical social worker specializing in addiction, homelessness, and infectious disease for many years before his healthcare management career. From 1993-2002, Joseph has worked in several organization in the City of Cambridge, including CASPAR, the Cambridge Health Alliance, and Cambridge Cares About AIDS. Joseph transitioned to the Massachusetts General Hospital in 2002, where he is currently the Senior Manager of Financial Services. Overseeing a staff of 50, Joseph has developed expertise in both early and late stages of the hospital revenue cycle, including registration, financial counseling, insurance verification, denials and appeals, and charity fund management.
Peggy Lynch, N.P.
Peggy Lynch, N.P., is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has been a care provider, educator and clinic manager in HIV Services. She has been a member of the CCAA Board of Directors for 7 years. Presently she works at the Somerville High School, School Based Health Center and is the proprietor of Greenhalgh Gardens, a design/build gardening service.
Wendy E. John
Wendy E. John is the Vice President, Program Manager in Fidelity Investments’ Human Resources Services Company in Marlborough, Massachusetts. In her seven years at Fidelity, Wendy has served in various roles, primarily in Fidelity’s Defined Benefit Actuarial Consulting Group where she most recently served as an Actuarial Consultant and managed a team of six Actuarial Analysts. She also served as the Director of Training for the group and developed and managed their curriculum. In April 2003, she moved into her current role within the Large Plan Services Relationship Management & Service Delivery Unit.
Anne C. Kubik, M.D.
Anne Kubik, M.D., is a Board Certified OB/GYN. She was at Winchester Hospital for 8 years. Prior to that, Dr. Kubik was a resident at Boston Medical Center, where she provided care for several HIV positive women, and her work with them had a tremendous impact on her personally. Based on her experience at Boston Medical Center, Dr. Kubik is very interested in the issues of prevention in high-risk youth with a particular interest in urban adolescents. Anne Kubik graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in 1993 and received her Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College in 1987. Dr. Kubik and her husband Michael Krupka live in Lexington with their three children.
Richard T. Larkin
Rick Larkin is currently a Senior Vice President at Peoples United Bank in Portsmouth, NH and Boston and has over 25 years of experience in the banking industry. He has been in corporate lending specializing in New England based middle market companies with Chase Manhattan, Shawmut, Bank of New England, BankBoston and Fleet Boston Financial. Prior to joining Peoples United Bank in August 2009, Rick was on long term disability for 9 years as he has been living with HIV since 1986. Rick has also been active and held several positions in the the Office of Diversity for BankBoston and FleetBoston Financial and has been a supporter of AIDS Action since the mid 1980's.
Kimba Roger McCant
Kimba McCant is a limited partner, and one of the original individuals, who joined RhumbLine at its inception in October 1990. Kim holds a B.S. in Finance (Cum Laude) and an MBA in Finance from Suffolk University in Boston. He has done volunteer work with AIDS Action Committee working with the Bayard Rustin Breakfast Committee for the last five years serving as Co-Chair 2004 and 2005 and prior to that as clerk for a two-year term. In addition, his volunteerism extended to other ASOs in the community, as well as participation and support of Balm of Gilead, Boston’s faith-based events response to the AIDS epidemic. He also has held a finance ministry designation in a community church for over 7 years with a $1 million dollar annual budget.
Raul Medina
Raul Medina is Corporate Relations and Business Development Manager, Hispanic News Press, publisher of El Planeta, the largest circulation Spanish-language newspaper in New England. Last year, Medina through El Planeta organized a very successful city-wide health fair for the Latino community held at Boston University’s Agganis Arena. Medina is the President Emeritus of the Boston Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA).
Bisola Ojikutu, M.D., M.P.H.
Bisola Ojikutu, M.D., M.P.H., is the director of the Office of International Programs of the Division of AIDS at Harvard Medical School and an Infectious Disease Fellow at the Massachusetts General/Brigham and Women's Hospital Program. Dr. Ojikutu served as health education coordinator at Harlem United HIV/AIDS Community Health Center, worked on Capitol Hill as a Health Policy Fellow and assisted in the development of proposals for reform in domestic violence, mental health awareness and welfare. She has spent the last year assisting South Africa in the development of a ground-breaking antiretroviral roll-out plan.
Louise Rice, R.N.
Louise Rice, RN, is Senior Director of Public Health and School Health Nursing for the Cambridge Public Health Department. She began her career as a Public Health Nurse at the Boston Department of Health and Hospitals twenty six years ago, where she worked in Maternal/Child Health and Infectious Disease. She has worked for the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. She is past Director of Research at Fenway Community Health, Boston. She has worked nationally and internationally as a trainer and consultant on ethics and human subjects’ protection in research, behavioral health, and community-based HIV prevention interventions. In her current position, she oversees infectious disease response, immunization, community health education, and school health for the City of Cambridge. She is past President of the Board of Cambridge Cares About AIDS, where she served for twelve years.
Jeanmarie Spinetti
Jeanmarie Spinetti is the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Support Services for the University of Massachusetts-Boston. In this role she serves as the chief daily operation officer for Academic Support Services which includes Academic Support Programs, the University Advising Center, Undergraduate Education, Career Services, the Ross Center for Disability Services, Pre-Collegiate Programs, Science Training Programs, and Student Support Services. Additionally, she has direct administrative responsibility for the supervision of Pre-Collegiate, Science Training, and Student Support Services Programs. Previous to the University of Massachusetts- Boston she worked as the Director of Operations for Cambridge Cares About AIDS. Prior to joining the AAC board, Jeanmarie was a member of the Board of Cambridge Cares about AIDS.
Thomas Webber
Thomas P. Webber recently retired from the Gillette Company where he served various rolls in Human Resources since 1986, including most recently Vice President of Human Resources, Global Compensation, Benefits and Learning and Development. He has served on various Boards including the Human Resources Leadership Forum and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). He has also been very involved with the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC). Webber, well-known and highly regarded in Boston’s business community, has been a long-time supporter and major donor to AIDS Action.
