Saturday June 27th is National HIV Testing Day
Join the Boston Test 1 Million movement on June 27th from 9am to 12 noon at the Fashion Arts Festival from 1pm to 5pm, in Copley Square. Planned activities include: Free HIV Counseling & Testing, public testimonials and press conference, as well as a fashion show and performances. Early HIV diagnosis is critical, so people who are infected can fully benefit from available life-saving treatments. Currently, almost 40 percent of people with HIV are not diagnosed until they already have developed AIDS. That can be up to 10 years after they first became infected with HIV. Finding out whether you are infected with HIV is the first step to improving your health and the health of your partners and your family. For more information on testing, click here.

We couldn't do it without you! One final reminder: even though the event is over, donations are still being accepted online and at our offices.
Donna “Woody” Woodward 1944-2009
The staff, board and clients of AIDS Action Committee mourns the loss of an icon of HIV/AIDS fundraising events. Woody was a long-time volunteer for the Mass Red Ribbon Ride, Harbor to the Bay and the AIDS Walk. In fact, Woody signed herself out of the hospital on Saturday to volunteer for the AIDS Walk on Sunday, June 7, (pictured left at the BU Bridge). “She had been a volunteer since the first Walk and she showed me how important it is to be part of AIDS Walk Boston”, stated Paul Tonnessen, former staff and long-time volunteer at AAC.
