Other Ways to Give

There are many ways to support our work and our clients.

Please contribute what you can so we may continue preventing new infections, supporting those affected, and tackling the root causes of HIV/AIDS.

Workplace Giving

Workplace giving is an easy and effective way to support AIDS Action through payroll deduction. To find out which of these programs your employer participates in, contact your Human Resources department. If your company does not have an employee giving program, or you would like to include AIDS Action in your existing campaign, please contact jvanheugten@aac.org.

United Way of Massachusetts
Many employers work with the United Way to run their workplace giving program. You can find AIDS Action Committee’s designation number in the United Way brochure or write-in your designation to “AIDS Action Committee” on your United Way campaign pledge card. AIDS Action has the designation number of 399788 as an affiliate agency of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay.

Commonwealth of Massachusetts Employee Charitable Campaign (COMECC)
This program allows Massachusetts state employees to give to charities of their choice. You can find more information on the program in your COMECC Handbook or by contacting your Human Resources department. AIDS Action Committee’s COMECC designation number is 309088.

Commonwealth of Boston Employee Charitable Campaign (COBECC)
This program allows Boston city employees to give to charities of their choice. You can find more information on the program in your COBECC handbook or by contacting your Human Resources department.  AIDS Action Committee’s COBECC designation number is 2500.

Private Corporate Campaigns
Your company may already have an annual campaign for giving through payroll deduction. AIDS Action participates in programs run by companies and organizations such as John Hancock Financial Services, IBM, and Harvard University. Contact your Human Resources department to find out more about your employer’s program and how to sign up.

Matching Gifts Programs
Many companies will match your gift to AIDS Action Committee, which could double or triple the value of your gift depending on your company’s program. To find out the guidelines and instructions for applying for a matching gift, contact your Human Resources department.

In-Kind Donations

One of the ways that AIDS Action is able to cut costs is through the acquisition of donated products and services from businesses and organizations who support our mission. These generous donations allow more of the money raised at our events to be applied to our vital efforts in the community.

Some examples of in-kind donations include the fruit and snacks available for AIDS Walk Boston & 5K Run participants, the silent auction and balloon pop items at Taste of the South End, and even the decorations at our Dance Party. By making an in-kind donation, your company will be seen by event participants as one who is dedicated to the fight against HIV/AIDS.

If you or your company are interested in supporting our work by donating products or services for one of our events, please contact jvanheugten@aac.org.

Current Needs
In-kind donations are needed for our events throughout the year used for various raffles, auctions and Walk incentive gifts. Items needed, but not limited to:

  • Restaurant gift certificates
  • Theater tickets
  • Hotel stays
  • House appliances
  • Plane tickets
  • Food and wine related gifts
  • Complimentary passes for Boston-area attractions

It can also be found on your car, near the base of the windshield, usually on the left-hand side.

Your donated vehicle can be a car, truck, van, motorcycle, RV or boat with trailer. Donate for Charity also accepts real estate.
